Early Years Program

Learning in the Early Years at CIS is play-based, inquiry-led, and child-centred. Children learn through exploration, hands-on activities, and collaborative experiences that support their natural curiosity and creativity.

The learning framework is designed around key developmental milestones, supporting:

  • Cognitive development
  • Language and communication skills
  • Social and emotional well-being
  • Physical development
  • Creative expression

Every child is unique, and learning progresses at different paces. Assessment in the Early Years focuses on holistic development, using observation and reflection rather than formal testing or numerical grades.

Early Years Class Levels

  • EY1 (Early Years 1) – Ages 3–4
  • EY2 (Early Years 2) – Ages 4–5
  • EY3 (Early Years 3) – Ages 5–6

EY1, EY2, and EY3 correspond to the traditional Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten stages.
